Waste incineration in Japan

Waste incineration is indeed a method of waste disposal that has been practiced for many years. It takes up less land and is more efficient than landfills and was once seen as a good way to "reduce waste faster", attracting developed countries such as Japan and Germany to develop it. More than 6,000 incinerators have been built in Japan, making it the largest number of incinerators in the world. At the same time, it has also attracted some developed countries to follow suit. This pushed the incineration of garbage to a climax.

However, the construction of a large and medium-sized incinerator often costs 1 billion yuan, and the cost of environmental protection treatment after it is completed and put into operation is about 300 yuan/ton. At present, the operation method of incineration and disposal of a ton of domestic garbage at tens of yuan in some domestic cities is doubtful whether it is really handled in accordance with environmental protection procedures. Environmentally friendly incineration methods are not affordable for ordinary cities. Its operation requires frequent replacement of filtration and adsorption materials, which also costs a lot of money, often resulting in the vulnerability of arbitrary simplification of operation.
